Why  Choose Black Logic VPN

Are you looking for a VPN service package with reliable speed and a secured connection? Well, the search is already over because I can recommend to you something that I have already used. I recently signed up for Black Logic VPN so that I could stream movies and watch TV shows on Hulu, and movies on Netflix while I'm away for a couple weeks traveling. Normally you can’t do this because they want an IP address in the US, but a VPN or virtual private network solves this issue and makes your foreign IP address look like a US one through their servers.

Black Logic VPN is just one of many other VPN providers, so you probably are going to want to take a look at the pros and cons of the different services it provides. That way you can decide like I did whether or not you wanted to sign up for services with them or another provider.

What does a VPN do?

If you are not sure of what exactly VPNs do, they hide your IP address, and encrypt your traffic to websites when you browse the internet. The way they work is rather intricate, a bit boring, so suffice to say that they make you invisible and protected on the internet, and in a much more efficient way than proxies.

bypass firewall with vpnSome of the things people use VPNs for include include the unrestricted access to the Internet if you are in China or countries that censor the  internet.  As you all know, the censorship in that country is very restrictive. As a matter of fact, there are lots of websites that you cannot access from that country. Sites like Facebook, Twitter, and YouTube can finally be accessed without worrying about Big Brotehr.  This is also true if you are living in the Middle East where not only are these sites blocked, but all VoIP calling devices like Skype are blocked too. Countries that do this would include  countries like the UAE, Qatar, Kuwait as well as Bahrain. That’s why you need a VPN provider like Black Logic VPN to make it possible for you to enjoy surfing unrestricted internet.

As I mentioned earlier, TV, movies, and other video streaming site that restrict content based on location can be accessed with a VPN. Unlike proxies which can change your IP but won't get you access to sites like Netflix, Hulu, or BBC iPlayer, VPNs can allow you to stream video from these sites once again, no matter where you are in the world.  All of the above mentioned services that a VPN can provide is accomplished by hiding your real IP address to bypass firewalls.

Details about Black Logic

Black Logic VPN is a pretty standard VPN service in some respects, offering VPNs for mobile devices like iPhone, iPad, and Android Devices as well as operating systems like WIndows, Mac OS/X, and Linux.  They offer PPTP, IPSec, and SSTP VPN protocols. Be sure to ask which is best for your device. In general, SSTP is only available for Windows 7. PPTP will be able to be used on all devices, but is a less secure solution than IPSec.  Be aware that some countries now block certain VPN protocols (ie China), so contact their support team before purchasing if you're not sure.  They've got servers in The US, The UK, Canada, and Europe.

black logic vpn pros and consGreat Stuff about Black Logic VPN

Something unique about Black Logic VPN service is that they have a wide variety of services available with their standard service.  They offer services like a static IP, premium bandwidth service, and even have VPN routers available. These are pretty high tech things, and most users won't need them. However, the are available. In short, a static IP would be useful for someone who's gaming online, and can't have their IP address constantly changing. Premium bandwidth would be useful for someone exchanging a lot of files through P2P, and a VPN router would be useful for multiple users on the same account, in the same location, ie a dorm or business.

Black Logic has pretty standard prices, and $8 USD / month for their unlimited VPN service (the standard package). Unfortunately I can't give your the "OMG its so cheap" speech.  However, I can say that their service seems to be dedicated to keeping you anonymous on the internet, with policies like not keeping provider logs, 100% server uptime, and 128-2048 bit traffic encryption.  2048 bit encryption is some serious, balls-to-the-wall encryption, so you safety is not an issue.

Problems with Black Logic VPN

A few issues you may have with Black Logic is that they ask for your phone number for verification.  Seeing as this is a service dedicated to anonymity, asking for this kind of personal information means it's possible for your internet activity to be traced back to you, depending on your mobile phone provider, and which country you're in.  This may or may not be an issue. You should remember that they don't keep provider logs, so while it may be traceable that you are using a VPN service, your online activity will be kept secret.

money back guaranteeAnother issue for me was that I had to wait two days for account verification.  I know they've got to deal with a lot of customers using stolen credit cards and other fraudulent techniques to sign up for their VPN service, but as an honest customer, its annoying that I've got to wait so long for verification.  Some services offer instant verification.

In a Nutshell

For some of the pimped up services, you'll pay extra, but depending on your online activity, the extra cash may be worth it.  Something about their site (the poor web-design?) makes me think that they know what they're doing.  I've always felt that these "computer people" don't really pay attention to asthetics and just provide pure service, which seems to be the case with Black Logic VPN. However, that's just a feeling. After using their standard service, I think it's a VPN service worth trying out.  Remember that they've got a 7 day money back guarantee, so there's nothing to lose.
