How To Set Up a VPN for PSP 3000

PS3 3000

PSP 3000:

PSP 3000 is a hand held portable gaming console developed by Sony. Some of the notable features of PSP 3000 are robust multimedia capabilities and a large viewing screen measuring 4.3”. The gaming console can connect to the Internet and other Play Station devices. The PSP 3000 also has an AV Out, a Memory Stick PRO Duo Expansion Slot, built-in stereo speakers and microphone.  It also has a UMD optical drive which can read Universal Media Discs.

Just like your laptop benefiting from a VPN connection, your gaming console can also benefit from a VPN service. Majority of the times gamers use their gaming consoles to play online games. Without a VPN service you will be restricted to few gaming servers. With a VPN service you can access any gaming server and play with gamers from other countries.  A VPN service creates a secure tunnel between your gaming console and gaming server ensuring your real IP address is not displayed to other gamers. This characteristic enhances privacy and security while playing games online.

You can easily configure your PSP 3000 to use VPN connection through your laptop. All you need to do is set up VPN on your laptop and then connect your PSP 3000 to your laptop to enjoy the benefits and security   offered by VPN.  To setup VPN connection on your PSP 3000 you will need following things

  • A VPN service
  • A laptop with wireless network adapter and free USB port
  • Wireless Internet connection(through a router or ISP provider)
  • A USB Wireless adapter

Since the PSP 3000 does not have an Ethernet Jack, you will be required to use a USB Wireless adapter to establish connection between PSP 3000 and laptop to share an Internet connection.

  • Note: It is assumed you already have a Wi-Fi Internet Connection set in your laptop before proceeding with the steps. If not, set up a Wi-Fi Internet connection before proceeding.
