IAPS Review

IAPS Security StoreIAPS Security Services offers a lot of stuff regarding privacy and security online. In fact, they're probably the most comprehensive online store on the topic. Some of what they offer is beyond the scope of this review, and to tell you the truth, beyond the scope of my expertise.  Today, I'm simply going to be reviewing their VPN service.

Actually, their VPN service offers much more than your average VPN provider does, so prepare yourself.
In fact, this is one of the main advantages of selecting IAPS as your VPN service provider. They have EVERYTHING. There is literally nothing that they don't have. I guess that's the same statement there, but I needed to reiterate the point.

Here's what they offer

  • IAPS VPNIP addresses from almost 200 countries
  • 1, 3, 6, and 12 month plans
  • Discounts for multi-month plans
  • Single country packages
  • Multi country packages
  • PPTP, L2TP, L2TP/IPSec, OpenVPN UDP, OpenVPN TCP, SSTP, IKEv2 VPN protocols
  • Support for Mac, Windows, Android, iOS, Linux, Tomato, DD-WRT, pfSense
  • Manual & automatic installation options

Actually the only thing I see missing from this list is support for Symbian devices like Nokia, but they do offer PPTP and IKEv2, both of which are compatible with mVPN, which can be used by some Nokia phones. I'll have to check back with you on that one.

I downloaded and used their software there the other day. It's fast and easy to use, so no problem there. Switching servers can be a bit of a task because there are almost 200 to scroll through, but that was a minor annoyance.

Virtual IP Address
Server connection was fast, browsing was fast, and streaming was seamless.

Check, check, and check.

There were no setup issues, no disconnection problems, and customer support was prompt in answering my questions.

Ok, no problem, and great.

So was there anything to complain about?

Well, you may notice that this review is almost 1 year after I started writing reviews here on Mr. VPN.

IAPS can be intimidating. They've made some improvements recently with regards to site navigation and the general user-friendliness of the site, but still, with so much to offer, if you don't know what you're looking for, it's easy to get lost. Sometimes, the simpler packages like PandaPow instant access, download & connection are nice even though there are fewer server & protocol choices.

And IAPS can be more expensive that other services.  For a 1 country plan, you pay $11.95. A 1 country plan at SwitchVPN costs $5.95. That's 50% cheaper. There are discounts for combo VPN packages, but that's in light of the rising cost of more country locations equaling higher cost.

3 months of a 5 VPN combo pack will cost you $39.95 here, but $24 at PandaPow. You'll receive a discount and pay $61.95 for 6 Privacy Policymonths, but a similar package at Hide My Ass would cost you $49.99 USD, plus give you OpenVPN and PPTP in the same package.
So there are definitely advantages and disadvantages to the service, and it's just going to come down to knowing what you're looking for, and whether or not IAPS can meet those needs.

One thing that must be mentioned about the service however is their commitment to professionalism and privacy.  I find that many of the newer VPN services kind of gloss over these items, spending more time on creating fancy apps, advertising campaigns, and trying to get new customers.

IAPS has obviously spent a lot of time creating software that works well, and service that you can trust with your private information. If privacy and security is what you're looking for online, IAPS should definitely be one of the VPN service providers you consider signing up with. Be sure to check out their privacy policy for more details.

So if IAPS seems like ‘your bag', be sure to visit their official website by clicking the link below. You can browse their packages and see if there's something that fits your needs.
