Stream the FIVB Championship Internationally Through a VPN

FIVB Championship

We live in a global and highly connected world, which means that there is always some type of sports going on to watch. For me, this is a wonderful experience, and it lets me experience all types of sports that I wouldn’t have seen otherwise.

At this point in time, I think I’ve watched more sports events streaming online than I have on television or actually in the stadium. I’ve also had the chance to show family and friends events that I know they would be interested in.

The 2014 FIVB Volleyball Women’s World Championship is coming up and that is one sports event that I’m going to watch through streaming. It’s actually an interesting sport and I enjoy watching how competitive the different teams are.

The problem with watching sports online is that the internet isn’t as open as we’d like to think. Instead, regional restrictions mean that a lot of programming can only be seen in some parts of the world.

This is fine if you’re in the part of the world that actually gets what you want to see. But, what if you aren’t?

VPNs for Access

The answer is to use a VPN.

VPNs are a tool with a wide range of uses, including your own online security. However, the really interesting thing is that they let you mask your identity online. In particular, you can use a VPN to mask your IP address.

Your IP address is the piece of information that tells other websites where you are in the world. So, your IP address might say you are in the United States, in China, in Australia, or wherever you happen to be. If you can’t access something online because of where you live, your IP address is the underlying reason.

When you use a VPN, you connect to a VPN server. This server has its own IP address, depending on what country it’s in. The process of using a VPN means that the IP address from the VPN shows up instead of your own one.

So, the idea is to pick a VPN server in a country that offers what you want to see streaming. This isn’t too hard to do, because there are a lot of VPN providers out there. Additionally, most VPN providers offer servers in common countries, like the United States and the United Kingdom.

VPNs sound complicated, but they aren’t. Many people would benefit from a VPN, but don’t try one because they think it will be difficult.

Most VPN providers have easy to follow instructions, because they know many of the people using the service will never have used one before. If you get stuck at all, there are lots of tutorials online.

I’ve used a number of different VPN providers over the years, but my favorite is VyprVPN and it’s perfect even if you haven’t used a VPN before. One of the biggest advantages of this particular provider is that is very stable and it has worked for me in a wide range of different situations.

My current VPN Recommendation is VyprVPN! It's inexpensive, secure, and trustworthy, and they have one of the best mobile apps in the industry.
