The increased availability of private and public Wi-Fi networks has resulted in increased access of Internet using Wi-Fi hot spots. However, not many know about the hidden dangers of accessing Internet over Wi-Fi. Internet access through Wi-Fi is considered unsecured as data streams passing over can be sniffed or accessed by hackers or miscreants using different advanced tools.

The solution to this problem is using VPN (Virtual Private Network) that enables used to gain secure connection to Internet. There are five different types of VPN services which include PPTP, L2TP VPN, L2TP/IPSec CRT VPN, L2TP/IPSec PSK VPN, and OpenVPN VPN.  Today, individuals also need to be careful while surfing the Internet.  A single click on a malicious link can lead to installation of malicious software on your computer.

Some VPN services are designed to care of this.  A firewall that comes with the VPN client can prevent installation of malicious code on your computer thus protecting your sensitive data and personal information stored on your computer.
