Watch Fox Outside The USA

If you are a big fan of all the shows on Fox like Family Guy, Simpsons, or some of the other shows, then you won’t like missing your programs and not being able to watch Fox outside the USA while you're overseas. But, what’s a person to do when the networks block IP addresses that are not from the U.S.?

Fox shows many of its prime time shows on its online network like Glee or Ramsey’s Kitchen Nightmares. It’s free if you are in the U.S., but not if you live overseas. The only thing you can do is sign up for a US-based VPN or virtual private network service provider.

What is a VPN?

VPNs are about the best and easiest way to see online content that is restricted to a certain area of the world.  By connecting to a VPN, you can change your IP address. This will allow you to watch Fox  outside the USA, BBC iPlayer outside The UK, or other sites that are restricted based on IP location.

Sites that have television and movie content are particularly popular, and VPN companies can provide access to these services.  They are restricted due to agreements with the TV program and movies distributors, so for most, opening up to an international audience is pretty much out of the picture.

Remember: Proxies are no longer a valid way to watch Fox outside the USA and you will have to choose from all the different VPN serveices you can find that have servers in the U.S.

Which VPN service to choose

There are several VPN services online, and many advertise specifically to users who want to access sites like Netflix, Hulu, and Fox outside The USA.  Some pointers on how to  choose the one that works the best for you.

  • Price: They are all about $6 to $30 a month, depending on the VPN protocol, length of contract, and features of the VPN
  • Reliability: Get something you've read a review of.  If there are reviews, that means people use it
  • Speed: Find a service with a money back guarantee. Some services just don't live up to their claims.

Extra features of VPNs

A VPN is also a more secure way of surfing the internet.  Using their servers as a font-man for your internet activity, connecting to the internet with a VPN not only gets you access to American television online, it also offer users a way to keep out hackers and prevent identity theft. Since you are filtering all that you see through their servers, they can block the bad things and give you the good stuff.

This is useful if you use Wifi cafes a lot,  because the easiest way to get your passwords stolen is to share a network with people you don't know.

If you want to watch Fox outside the USA, the only way to do this is to sign up for a VPN. If you're worried about your internet security, VPNs are the way to go.  VPNs are geared to work on a PC, Mac iPhone, iPad, Android, and many other any Internet ready devices. Prices and speed will vary from service to service, but I can recommend three to get you started.
