Watch Hulu Overseas

This Post has been updated: Please visit the new post here.

Hulu.com is a website where subscribers can stream online video content from U.S. television shows and movies. There are current episodes of shows like American Dad, Law and Order, the Tonight Show and Wilfred. Free subscribers can watch the first five episodes of the season, but if you pay $7.99 a month you can watch all the episodes of a season unlimited!

Hulu works on your computer or laptop, as well as on other Internet ready devices like Bluray players or smart phones. But all this is a moot point if you don’t live it the U.S. because you can’t watch Hulu overseas.

That’s right. All this great programming is blocked unless you have a U.S. IP address because Hulu is bound by certain contracts with the various providers. So, what if you are hooked on American shows like Survivors or American Idol? If so, you need to sign up for a virtual network provider or a VPN so you can watch Hulu overseas.

How do you use a VPN?

VPN providers are online companies that maintain servers in the U.S. and in some other countries. They will work on PC or Mac computers, and some companies provide service on LINUX as well. Most provide options for iPhone, Android, Nokia, and Windows Phone as well.  The VPN server provides a secure and encrypted login that will cloak your foreign IP address and make it appear as if you are in the U.S. and then Hulu will let you watch from overseas – it doesn’t matter where you are!

A few of the VPN providers out there to choose from are Hidemyass, 12VPN, StrongVPN and more. You can find links to these sites below.

A VPN provides a dynamic, US IP address and the connection is secure and private due to the encryption and security procedures in place to provide protection to subscribers. This means that not only can you watch Hulu overseas; you are being protected from possible identity theft and other malicious activity.
