You can’t use the SSTP VPN protocol for Mac, Windows XP, iPhone, iPad, iTouch, or Android!

Despite hundreds of rumors being spread on the internet, SSTP is only supported by:

  • Windows Server 2008
  • Windows Vista Service Pack 1 (or later)
  • Windows 7
  • Windows 8

There is probably some way to root/jailbreak some of these devices and modify the VPNs, but why? There are perfectly good VPN protocols available for these devices. Please see below.

So what are your options?

Mobile devices – PPTP, L2TP, OpenVPN in some cases (rooted Android)

Mac/Windows/Linux: OpenVPN , PPTP, L2TP

Most VPN services offer a choice of protocol. Please refer to our pages for each device.
